Photography at a Hafod Farm Wedding…
This was right up my street! (well not quite literally, it was 4 hrs away but totes worth it!). I’ve known James tenuously via my brother for years but never have I seen much of him and I’ve certainly never seen him smile so much! Samantha, you’re so good for this boy! Based in Manchester, Hafod Farm, really wasn’t too far for them but far enough to be superbly in the middle of nowhere. Based in the Conwy valley in Northern Snowdonia, Hafod Farm has the use of a 16th Century barn for the ceremonies and fields upon fields for the party (as well as handy farmhouses that sleeps 12 but where your cold photographer can warm up with a lovely cuppa!!!) Hafod were pretty new to weddings when James & Sam got married in June, I think it was their 4th but they have since snowballed & I really haven’t shot anywhere quite like it, it really is beautiful.
J&S’s first date revolved around sticky ribs, so having the benefit of the pick of caters they went on a mission to get something similar. OMG, Big D’s BBQ please, one of my next couples, please get them!!!!! Having spent a lot of time in catering, I’m pretty underwhelmed at mass catering but these guys rock! Beef brisket, I wouldn’t have even looked twice but oh my goodness, my mouth is watering whilst I’m even writing this!!!
Their other buy for the wedding that I felt was absolutely brilliant was confetti. Now I absolutely LOVE confetti shots. You never know quite what you’re going to get but the expressions are always brilliant and my advice to a couple getting married, is have it! and have as much as you can! (and as bright as you can), none of this piddly little amount, get bucket loads! J&S also found confetti canons. I’ve never seen them before but I just wish I’d found them for ours!
The whole day really was a treat to be part of. I lost feeling in my toes at one point but Sam & James just didn’t stop smiling and you’ve no idea how little things like that, absolutely make my day fabulous.
Thank you so much for your interest in my weddings and if you’re planning a wedding in Wales, then I would love to hear about your plans!

Hafod Farm is just AWESOME! If you’re looking for something a little out of the way with the ability to put whatever stamp you’d like on the day, then this is the venue.
