Photography at a Kingscote Barn Wedding…
Where to start with this one! As with many couples, I’ve no idea how people find me, but I’m so pleased they do. Oh the wonder of the internet. So, I think this wedding won the price of making their tog emotional! I don’t know if I just liked their journey and souls, whether they resonated with me on a more familiar level and I felt I knew them already, or whether they had seen into my world a little bit …or it could be a bit of all three but these two and their wedding will stay with me a while yet.
Clearly so bloody suited. Even on our FaceTime chat, the way they were so cuted up with each other and considerate of each other, it made my heart melt (I think this was aided by the most incredible canvass of a deserted beach in Australia hanging behind them, that made it all feel very exciting!). You feel true love when you see it. I remember Dan saying he could be a bit emotional and asking him how he felt about his speech and he just said that he was looking forward to it. Since they’d been engaged, he’d been thinking of nothing else but what he was going to say, it was is chance to talk about the people that really mattered to him (or words to this effect). He even bought her two bracelets for their day because he couldn’t choose between them…How bloody lovely.
As you know, I love a Kingscote Barn wedding, the opportunities are endless. Fay got ready in Tuppence Barn just down the road with Abi Andrews on hair and make up. Mazin’ lady. The dress, a Stella York, was perfectly coupled with some teal/duck eggy shoes and the whole outfit was only nearly outshone by their gorgeous pup, Bob. But only nearly. My particular favourite part of the day was when the bridesmaids was counting out the champagne she’d poured…’one for Fay, one for #bridesmaid2, one for #bridesmaid3 and one for the photographer’ haha, there really is no other job like it. (I declined obvs, professional, professional…). They even had a celeb! Well kind of. Karl Kennedy, off the tele was on the tele. Dan, dutiful of pleasing his new wife, had asked the Dr himself to record a message. Haha, classic. Oh and a card from Stereophonics, that’s pretty cool.
Please enjoy some of my favs from their day. For any members of their party, please go to http://www.lushimaging.smugmug.com , password is their surname.
Thank you so so much to Dan, Fay and their family for being so lovely and thank you if you are reading the blog! If you’re thinking of planning a wedding, I’d love to hear about it 🙂 x
